URBANIZED MUSIC

At the core, Urbanized Music is the duo of Amina and Coolout Chris.  You could describe them as hip-hop performing artists, since each is a respected veteran of the Chicago hip-hop music scene, having shared the stage with the likes of Dead Pres, Killer Mike, Slum Village, Bahamadia, Joi, and Zion I, and graced prominent stages from the Steppenwolf Theater, to the Jay Pritzker Pavillion, and Navy Pier, to mid sized venues like Double Door, The Vic, Joe’s, and Metro.  It’s also just as easy to find Urbanized Music on stage at some of the smaller, more intimate venues you may have only heard of if you live in Chicago, like Elastic Arts, Elboroom, Morseland, and Subterranean, as well as at music festivals, and college campuses across the country. Considered by many as one of the most exciting, entertaining, and authentic hip-hop duos, Urbanized Music is so much more than that...

Tall Black Guy

Producer and founder of Tall Black Guy Productions, Terrel Wallace (a.k.a. Tall Black Guy), uses his self-made label to fuse vintage soul sounds with progressive hip-hop beats.
Born and raised in Detroit, his signature sound is a multi-layered blend of melodic basslines and samples (anything from Bossa Nova to classic soul), which is all seamlessly woven together with sharp kicks and snares.

Tina M. Howell

Tina M. Howell has been a vital part of Chicago's music and spoken word scene for over 15 years. She's performed everywhere from Chicago's Vic Theater, Metro, Park West, and Hot House, to New York's Knitting Factory, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in Arizona, and the University of Wisconsin, in Madison.... And, she has graced the stage with Ugochi, Urbanized Music, Amina, The Pat Smillie Band, Tree Thirteen, Bumpus, and the legendary D-Settlement. Tina now breaks out with her own branding of urban fusion.

Pathfinders

In order to truly understand who the Pathfinders are, one must go back to the beginning... before the Pathfinders even existed... back when there was just an emcee, beat maker, and another emcee...

Mario

Chicago poet, educator, activist and radio chat show host, Mario has been performing in Chicago and the US for over ten years.

Tree Thirteen

Tree Thirteen are Tree Turner and DJ 007, two childhood friends who met in kindergarten in Chicago and have been friends and making music ever since. Inspired by Gang Starr, Jimi Hendrix and Nine Inch Nails, both artists bring their own talents to this unique group. Tuner is the wordsmith and musical lyricist, and DJ 007 is the DJ, arranger and producer.
