Amina Amina is a writer, performing artist, and hip-hop activist who has spent the past decade actively involved in the advancement of Chicago’s hip-hop culture and community. Amina is Executive Director of Chicago Hip-Hop Initiative, a not-for profit community development arts organization; and Co-Founder of Chicago Hip-Hop Heritage Month, an officially recognized annual observance since 2003 that celebrates Chicago’s local hip-hop arts and community throughout the entire month of July. "Coolout Chris" Coolout Chris (Producer/DJ/Emcee) has been rocking Chicago hip-hop for years, and many regard him as a true Chicago treasure. A founding member of one of the city’s premiere crews "Elements of Nature", and the 90’s era rap group Spalaney’s, Coolout’s music has been featured on radio and television, and in 1999 he co-founded Urbanized Music, and BeatQuarters Productions. Some of her early influences were MC's such as KRS One, Nas, Master Ace, Latifah, Rakim, and Lauryn Hill. Studying these masterminds has given 13 the ability to speak to the masses.
