Urbanized Music: Amina & Chris

At the core, Urbanized Music is the performance, production, and songwriting duo of Amina and Coolout Chris.
Each is a respected Chicago based hip-hop artist. Between them they've shared the stage with the likes of Dead Pres, DJ Quik, MC Lyte, Fat Joe, DMC, Jean Grae, Killer Mike, Slum Village, Bahamadia, and Zion I, and graced prominent stages from the Steppenwolf Theater, Jay Pritzker Pavilion, and Navy Pier Skyline Stage, to venues like Double Door, The Vic, Joe’s, and Metro; more intimate venues like Elastic Arts, Elboroom, Morseland, Darkroom, Cubby Bear, and Subterranean; and festivals like the Uptown Unity Fest, African Festival of the Arts, Silverroom Annual Block Party, and the Chicago International Movies & Music Festival.

They have traveled and performed internationally. Conducted workshops in West Africa, as part of their role as United States Cultural Envoys. A tour of Cote d’Ivoire which was captured on flipcams and became the documentary film ‘Keep It Moving – Chicago To Cote d’Ivoire’ which follows the Urbanized Music and fellow Chicago artist Ang13 as they spend 2 weeks in 7 regions of the French speaking West African nation.
